Mosaic Announces Expansion into Orthotics in New Partnership with Taika3D
Mosaic’s Array offers unique automated capabilities that have unlocked a vast range of applications for on demand digital manufacturing across multiple industries. Custom medical orthotics, one of Mosaic’s newest verticals, presents a perfect use case for additive manufacturing due to the high volume, custom nature of each pair.
While utilizing 3D printing for the production of custom orthotics is not a novel concept, historically, the practice has been infeasible due to high up front equipment costs and high labor requirements for post processing. Array presents a solution to these issues, allowing labs to manufacture orthotics efficiently, locally, and cost-effectively, while requiring limited operator oversight.
Working with medical practitioners and central fabricators in the foot orthotic space, Mosaic has validated a streamlined end-to-end workflow to unlock efficient orthotic production. Mosaic is partnering with orthotics design software companies to streamline the processing of prescriptions and patient scan data, to offer a smooth proven workflow to customers.
The first in a series of collaborations, Mosaic is thrilled to announce our partnership with Taika3D, a pioneering leader in orthotic design technology. This partnership optimizes Taika3D's design automation software for Mosaic's flagship product, Array.
Steve Cook, Co-founder and CEO of Taika3D, shared his perspective:
"We believe that the future of orthotic design and manufacture hinges on collaborative partnerships and innovative technologies. Our optimization for the Mosaic Array signifies our support for customers manufacturing FFF at high volume, and we are excited to explore this market with Mosaic. Furthermore, we remain open to exploring collaborations with printing companies and those employing alternative methods for manufacturing, as we strive to continually expand the horizons of personalized healthcare solutions."
